Terms of Service

Last updated: May 6, 2026

By using SymptomSignal you agree to these terms.

1. Not a medical service

SymptomSignal is a privacy-preserving symptom intake and public-health signal layer. It is not a medical device, not a clinical decision support tool, and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical concerns.

2. Emergencies

Do not use SymptomSignal in an emergency. If you suspect a life-threatening situation, call your local emergency number immediately.

3. Acceptable use

  • Don't submit reports on behalf of someone without their knowledge (except a child or dependent in your care).
  • Don't attempt to deanonymize, scrape, or stress-test the service.
  • Don't submit deliberately false reports — this can distort public-health signals.

4. Public-health professional access

Workbench access is granted by SymptomSignal administrators after verifying institutional affiliation. Workbench users agree to use aggregated data only for public-health purposes and to respect the audit log of their actions.

5. Intellectual property

The SymptomSignal name, brand, software, and methodology remain ours. You may share aggregate dashboards with attribution.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or accuracy of AI-generated guidance.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SymptomSignal and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the home page. Continued use after the change is acceptance.
